Tigran Jager's neo-symphonic trilogy "The Way. Confucius" became part of a sketch film: its presentation took place at the Confucius Cup festival

Updated: Feb 9

The neo-symphonic trilogy "The Way. Confucius," created by Tigran Jager, became the musical accompaniment for the film sketch of the same name.

It opened the Second Moscow Festival of Chinese National Sports, Culture and Arts "Confucius Cup".

The film is based on a play by a contemporary writer, written in Russian using the original lexical style of ancient Chinese characters. The film is also based on the format of an "audio play," in which the author names the characters' roles and provides stage directions. This is a principle of inclusion for those with visual impairments, among others.

About the Musical Trilogy

Everyone has their own path, and everyone must walk it with dignity. Tigran Jager's album "The Path," in the style of Chinese epics and motifs, is dedicated to the great thinker Confucius and his concept of "道 (path)," the character for which is read as the world-famous "dao."

The composer presented three compositions: from the breathtaking, fantastically dynamic, and majestic "Confucius and the Dragon" to "Confucius and Memory," balancing between measured reflection and the joy of remembrance, then ascending to "Confucius and the Sun," bathed in rays of sunshine and bliss.

The Chinese-style music was composed by an ethnic Armenian. Thus, it became a bridge between cultures, an intriguing interethnic synthesis of European neo-symphony and Asian "epic." The spirit of Confucius himself assisted the composer in this, as the philosopher saw music as cosmological, and therefore universal, a shared human nature.

The author was also inspired by other geniuses of different races and peoples, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Avicenna. They help reveal to the modern world what Higher Wisdom is and how a person can become a genius in their own life.
